    Happy Friday everyone!  We have been approached about a gift of gold bullion.  We understand all the tax ramifications in accepting and liquidating this and are discussing those with the donor.  The question I have is one of liquidation and storage.  Can anyone provide feedback on their experience with a service/firm you used for liquidation?  Where/how did you store these prior to liquidation?

    When this happened to me once, we arranged to liquidate the precious metal (silver in my case) with a local dealer upon receipt, so storage was not an issue. In fact, I met the donor at the dealer's office.

    Unless the gift is a substantial amount of gold (my gift was worth about $25,000, which the dealer could accommodate), I recommend doing something similar. I was able to find several gold dealers online in your area.
