  • 1.  Outsourcing Prospect Management Data

    I hope you are well. 
    We have never incorporated appropriate prospect research and management into our work. We are a smaller team (a total of eight make up our whole Office of Advancement). We are looking into outsourcing the prospect research and data analysis with a reputable consulting company. Ideally, they would give us back data we add to our donor records, rank capacity, and indicate who we should target for various level major gifts etc. Also, if any one has done this before, what are the price ranges? Is it based on database size, active donor size, type of service? 
    Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you!

    There are dozens of reputable firms that have been doing this sort of work for decades!  I am confident some of them will contact you offline.

    The price ranges will vary significantly based on the number of prospects you need to have research, and how deep of a profile you want them to provide (most firms will offer different options).

    However, before you outsource the research, have you identified who you need to research?  I think there are two steps here.  The first is a wealth screening of your viable population (not the entire database!).  From that screening and initial assessment, you will probably want to pay for deeper dives into a smaller population.
