We're using the basic Outlook encryption function. Definitely not my decision to do this but IT is in the driver's seat and they get VERY worked up over these things.
I'll look into password protection.

It has never been a problem for me. What sort of encryption tool are you using? That could be your problem.
Have you considered sending a password-protected document instead? That's just as secure (for these purposes).
FWIW, I know many organizations that send these sorts of instructions without encryption or passwords. Heavens - some still publish these on their open websites!

I searched but didn't find any discussions about my specific question.
Is anyone having difficulty (on the donor side) with their access to encrypted docs sent via email? This is happening frequently to us. We are required to send our wire transfer info and stock transfer info via encryption and it seems problematic for many donors to open/access these messages. Thoughts?
