    Hello,

We currently use a clunky, time consuming process for recurring EFT pledges.   We have a few older pledges that use this method and I don't feel the time is worth the outcome.  I'd like to update these pledges with the donors using our giving website but need some context from other schools on whether they have successfully eliminated or continued this process.

    Thank you,

I've helped do this several times. It's not that difficult. With the help of your Donor Relations team, you reach out to those donors, advising them you are changing vendors and, due to security considerations, you cannot "move" their bank information. You can then walk them through the process of updating the payment plan on your website.

At the same time, you will likely find donors who decide to switch from EFT to a credit card, which is perfectly fine.

Over the decades, I have encountered a small number of donors who would not change - they didn't "trust" storing their bank information online. So, you might still have one or two that you will need to process manually. But when I did this at Duke in the 1990s, we successfully transitioned 385 out of 387 donors without any issue!

Thank you.  That is my plan and I needed the backup!

When we transitioned to GiveCampus (includes EFT) from a previous manual EFT process with our bank, we utilized our Annual Giving team to do outreach. Although it wasn't 100%, we achieved a decent migration result. Getting EFT into GiveCampus where we don't have to manually manage EFT has been worth it.

Dianna, knowing you are migrating to Assend, if you are using GiveCampus, let's connect, as we uncovered a nuance.
