    Hello and Happy Friday!

    A question has come up regarding benefits to donors. We want to give donors who make gifts at a specific threshold ($5k+) access to a website to buy an event seat for a fee. There is no cost to access the website, but the ability to purchase the event seat is dependent upon a donor's giving level. Before I present this to Legal, I wanted to see if there are any concerns to do this.

    One issue to be aware of is that to gain access to the website, donors have to give $5k personally, not through a DAF or PF, as that access would be a prohibited private benefit that a DAF would have to decline.

    And if the event is related to athletics then the gift is entirely not deductible. Probably not a concern for a health system - but worth mentioning for the benefit of others.
