    Here's a snippet:

Venmo is launching a new feature called "Charity Profiles" that will allow charities to raise funds and receive donations directly within its app, the PayPal-owned company announced on Monday. The new profiles will be available to charities that have received confirmed charity status from PayPal.

The new profile option will allow charities to reach more people who are passionate about causes in their community, directly in the Venmo app. Venmo also notes that charity profiles offer charities seamless setup, low fees and an easy charity verification process.

We are marching ever closer to accepting what we are calling digital wallets within our iModules platform. Venmo, apple pay, etc. Probably around year-end when I'm not busy at all and have a lot of time to embrace new procedures. J

This is great and something that has been requested.  However, if most institutions are like ours, we have this huge list of designations for funds to our Foundations. Question for anyone who has set this up, can you establish designations (doubtful), can you add additional text or description to the profile to articulate how the gifts will be used (such as confirming the gift will be an unrestricted gift to support the XYZ Foundation / University.)

We are also interested in utilizing this venmo functionality. Currently we use Braintree so folks can give via paypal, venmo, and applepay on our crowdfund site. I echo Jeff's question, and I am also curious about how we will identify the donors in our database via the info we receive from venmo. Just curious how the match will be made... We have reached out to Treasury Services to start this conversation and can provide any insight once we move forward! Very exciting news indeed

    Thanks,
    Jessica

The city of Charlotte has a Native community that has thrived here for over fifty years, including members of all of North Carolina's eight state and federally recognized tribes. What are land acknowledgments and why do they matter?

    Good afternoon!

I just wanted to see if anyone has gotten this to function for their charity yet.  We are trying to get set up for our Day of Giving, but the Charity account has to be linked to a personal Venmo account.  Hmmmmm - maybe not ready for prime time yet????

We saw this and I've emailed Venmo support asking them if they provide more than name and email on their donor report. Website seems to indicate it's email only. We need to know mailing address for a variety of reasons including federal reporting of domestic versus international source gifts. They have not yet responded. I can't be the only org who has this need?

I ran into the same issue, I followed the link to set up a charity account, but stopped when it looked like it was requiring a person's info to establish. Love to hear if anyone else has had a different experience.

We do have a PayPal business account and are an approved charity. But I do remember that in setting that up, they required personal information from our CFO. And that individual is no longer with us. So that's going to be tricky.
I'm unclear if we somehow have to set up a "personal" Venmo account and then link - but I'm interested in checking it out as well. First I have to figure out how to change the contact info.

And YES we need to have the address info for foreign gift reporting.
The primary reason we want to add Venmo (which we already have through GiveCampus) is so our foreign donors have more options.

Does anyone know if Venmo has a maximum donation amount?

We have a Paypal business account and while logged in there I clicked on the link and received this message:  Your business classification is not eligible. To confirm your charity, your service keyword must be Charitable and Social Service Organization.

I guess it doesn't really matter - we are listed as a Non-profit organization · Schools and Educational Services.  We'll just wait since most of our giving is going through GiveCampus at this time.
