  • 1.  URGENT request for a Maui situation: mass email merge tool

    Friends, an organization collecting donations to respond to the tragic fires on Maui suddenly finds itself with over 100,000 receipts to send via email.  Can anyone recommend a mass email merge tool that they would recommend for such a purpose?  We'll create a csv data file.  The emails don't have to go out today, but their Comms team is overwhelmed doing other things and we're looking for a tool we can spin up quickly to get these sent.  Ideas?  Thanks!

    Also, if anyone has any experience with being overwhelmed with gifts in a major disaster/emergency on the advancement services side of the house and has any words of wisdom, would love to get them and I'll pass them on. For example, what in the world did you do with posting and reconciliation with Finance?  Thanks again.

    You can use someone like Sendgrid or Elastic Email to upload a CSV with your merge fields and then create your email merge template and send an email. 

    You might also reach out to Charity Engine. Their system is designed for enterprise direct response campaigns and they may be able to help you with some professional services here too. 

    On the data side, reconciling daily batches can be outsourced - this isn't a scary volume. My team reconciles files of this size on a daily basis in the government billing space, which is even more complex. Ping me if you have any questions, I'm happy to volunteer some help.
