    Good morning,

How do others handle the communication rules for donors who have only made a tribute gift to your institution? We have always coded these people (who have no other connection than that tribute gift) with 'do not call', 'do not mail' and 'do not email' (if applicable). Do others follow this approach or do you not code them at all?

As always, thank you for your feedback!

They are call-able and mailable until you are told otherwise. However, I believe that your first outreach should be 3-6 months down the road. That letter should acknowledge the original tribute, and then take it from there.
