  • 1.  Third Party Event IRS Requirements

    Posted 05-02-2023 02:05 PM

    Hi everyone,

We have a pending situation where a Third Party will be putting on a Clay Shoot event to support our cause, and we will be receiving sponsorship payments directly and sending acknowledgement letters.

Although we are not putting on the event, do we have to include any tax verbiage pertaining to the taxable benefit which sponsors will receive in exchange for their contribution, or can we say that the donation is 100% tax deductible?

    Thanks

They are still receiving a benefit in exchange for their contribution - regardless of who is providing that benefit. So, yes. They must receive a QPQ receipt.
