Hello,

I am reaching out to see if any Advancement/Development Services or Advancement/Development Operations departments have conducted a SOC I or SOC II Compliance exercise specifically for the operational aspects of an Advancement shop.  I know we expect and ask for SOC II Compliance from many of our vendors, but I am inquiring if anyone has specially conducted a SOC I or SOC II Compliance exercise for their Advancement Services/Operations operational areas?  

Would you pursue SOC II Compliance if you could?

Hi Dwight,

At UNC Chapel Hill, we are bound by the University's security standards, which are not specifically SOC 2, but they are the equivalent. If your system is housed on Georgia Tech's systems, then I would think you would be bound by their standards. If you are not housed on their systems, then I wonder if there is an option to partner with their IT division to assist with security and compliance.
