We recently hosted our annual athletics golf outing. Of course, charitable receipts were issued to the sponsors, however, a golfer is now requesting a receipt for his foursome - I believe he paid for his colleagues to golf as a group and he's seeking reimbursement from his employer.
My colleague who has been in communication with this golfer did some of his own research and believes that we can issue a receipt if we subtract the FMV of the greens fees, meals, and giveaway. Is this correct? Is there anything else we need to be aware of and can we indeed issue this receipt?
