  • 1.  Recording and Managing Naming Opportunities

    Hi Everyone,

    We're looking for information on how other organizations record and manage naming opportunities. We are using Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and would prefer to utilize our CRM for this instead of spreadsheets. Any information you could share on this would be greatly appreciated.

    We are using a Naming Opportunity App within NXT. Kurt Barnes can show you a demo.  Kurt@appsnxt.com .  I am also happy to show you how we are using the app.  It is in a tile on NXT in the donor record.  So much better than the dreaded spreadsheet.

    Tony,

    We recently transitioned from spreadsheet to RE to track this info.  This lives in Notes for us with a type = Named space, Summary = building/project, Details = details of the area named (named for, location, plaque).

    So far it's worked pretty well. We are a small school so this solution may not be scalable for all.

    Good morning,

    We custom-built a naming opportunity database within our facility database (FMI) to enable map overlays. The addition of the naming database to FMI cost only $10,000. I've attached a document outlining the fields currently included in our system.

    Hi Tony,

    We created an attribute/custom field on the gift. Now we have queries we can pull if need be. Each time we have a new initiative that involves a naming opportunity, we will update the table within NXT. I also like Sandra's concept of the note so the information is front and center when a gift officer is looking at the record. I may adjust our process to do both. I'd still want the custom field on the gift for queries and reporting.
