When I worked at NC State, we partnered with Admissions to collect what the University felt was necessary and important parent information. We did not get everything we needed but prioritized things.
Have you gently pushed back to see if a compromise can be made?
Regardless, once we pulled new parents in (in May after the deposit deadline), we immediately initiated a wealth screening on all new parents. Doing that will yield employment data for you.
