  • 1.  Question regarding obtaining parent information

    We used to get copies of student applications because on that application was parent employment.  They have now taken that question off the applications.  How does everyone handle gathering information regarding parents employment?  We gather this so that we can research to find out who might be a top prospect.  What other information do you rely on when it comes to parents and prospects?

    When I worked at NC State, we partnered with Admissions to collect what the University felt was necessary and important parent information. We did not get everything we needed but prioritized things.

    Have you gently pushed back to see if a compromise can be made?

    Regardless, once we pulled new parents in (in May after the deposit deadline), we immediately initiated a wealth screening on all new parents. Doing that will yield employment data for you.
