  • 1.  Politcal campaign group paying individual's pledge?

    We have a situation where we received a gift from a political campaign group toward a specific scholarship. We are now being told that this gift should be applied to a specific individuals pledge. Are there issues with this money being applied to an individual's pledge?

    If this is a PAC do Arion it is not tax-deductible. You cannot process it as a gift - but you can accept it. Whether you want to manually reduce the pledge without applying a payment is up to your Gift Acceptance Committee.
