Gwen, I like your language. Have you had donors who are knowingly using a DAF to pay the comment to be resistant to sign the commitment intent form because 1) they know the DAF cannot pay on a pledge, or 2) They don't want the personal obligation knowing the DAF is paying it?

We don't include language like that in our LOI, but we do include this statement on our pledge forms:
Donor acknowledges that for this pledge to be fully recognized as a commitment to x College, Donor is personally responsible for its satisfaction. Pledges may not be made on behalf
of others. However, should related payments be received from third parties, x College may voluntarily reduce donor's personal obligation by a like amount.
