  • 1.  Job Categories

    Posted 12-18-2023 01:33 PM

    Good morning,

We are looking to update our out of the box 'job category' list so that it is more useful for our end users. We are still in the info gathering phase to see if users prefer a high level category such as 'healthcare' or if they prefer granular, Physician, Physician Assistant, Nurse, etc. My suggestion is to keep it high level as the job title will reflect what their job actually is.

    Thank you for your input!

If you come up with a great solution, I would love to see it!

One approach that I've seen is to start with the federal classification system, in whatever generation is current, and generally keep it at the summary level, except where it's germane to your needs.

So, if you're an education school, you may want to drill down into the detail of

    · 25-2000  Preschool, Elementary, Middle, Secondary, and Special Education Teachers

    ·        25-2010  Preschool and Kindergarten Teachers

    ·        25-2011  Preschool Teachers, Except Special Education

    ·        25-2012  Kindergarten Teachers, Except Special Education

But possible not into the detail of

    · 45-2000  Agricultural Workers

    ·        45-2040  Graders and Sorters, Agricultural Products

    ·        45-2041  Graders and Sorters, Agricultural Products

My US$0.02 worth; the usual disclaimers apply.

    Good luck!
