IRS Publication Changes & Deletions

    During my semi-annual review of the IRS website for form and publication updates, I found five that have changed since last December:

    Publication 526 Feb-23 Charitable Contributions
    Publication 544 Feb-23 Sales and Other Dispositions of Assets
    Publication 557 Jan-23 Tax-Exempt Status for Your Organization
    Publication 561 Jan-23 Determining the Value of Donated Property
    Publication 970 Jan-23 Tax Benefits for Education

    I did not detect any significant changes but did not compare them word-for-word!

    Curiously, I also found two publications dealing with automobile donations that have been deleted. I suspect that could be due to updates in 8282s, 8283s, and 1098cs over the years. Or, perhaps they are being redone, and I will catch those in six months. The two, and the last publication date, are:

    Publication 4302 Jan-15 A Charity's Guide to Vehicle Donation
    Publication 4303 Jan-15 A Donor's Guide to Vehicle Donation
