  • 1.  Inter-Department Transfers

    We are a supporting Organization and frequently receive departmental transfers within our institution.  Question...should these departmental transfers be counted for fundraising totals, should we record in our CRM system?  What is CASE guidelines with regards to inter departmental transfers?

    You cannot make a gift to yourself! The only donations you may count are those from external, unaffiliated organizations.

    As these are not countable and represent only an internal reallocation of funds, you should not record these in your CRM. However, if the funds being transferred were originally donations from an external source, you must first obtain their approval to use the funds in an alternate manner - and then adjust the donor giving record accordingly.
