I'm fairly certain this is not allowed by IRS regulations - but can someone point me to the ruling? Here's the scenario.
I'm bringing in XXXXXX to do a poetry workshop for the XXXXX Program and his usual rate is $2000 but he's doing it for $1000 since I didn't have the budget. He asked for a letter stating that he made an in-kind donation of $1000.
Let me know if this is possible.
