Dear All,

We received a cash gift that will support the below, I am not sure what the purpose of the gift should be, should it be under current operations,  operation and Maintenance of t Plant, I am confused since the fund will also support research and salaries.

below are the areas the fund will support
a. replace some outdated/deteriorating equipment;
b. add new manufacturing and materials testing capabilities in the workshop;
c. equip the Project Assembly Area with proper assembly and testing tools;
d. empower capstone projects
e. finance the salary of a Program Director and a Shop Supervisor (technician).
f. expand the scope of projects (capstone and others) to solving real-world challenges through community engagement and industrial partnerships;

I would work with the Business Office to properly allocate this gift.  It is likely it will need to be divided into different buckets.

It is possible that they will suggest a single restricted "holding account" until specific projects and funding opportunities are identified.  But, then, funds will need to be redistributed to appropriate spending accounts for expenditure.
