  • 1.  Endowment Reinvestment Policy

    Hi Everyone!

    Does anyone have an endowment reinvestment policy that they are willing to share?  I am specifically interested in policies that dictate when unspent accumulated endowment disbursements may be reinvested; what are your parameters for reinvestment?  Just a description is fine.

    Hi Nancy,

    Utah State University implemented this back in 2022. 

     

    On June 11, 2021 the USU Foundation Board approved an automatic sweeping of unused funds for an endowment's spendable index starting June 30, 2022.  Unused funds that are at least two years and older will automatically sweep back to the endowment's appreciation on June 30th of each year.  Units can request a one-time sweep exemption (can be renewed) for approved purposes by filling out this request for exemption form. All requests for exemptions must be submitted by June 15th of each year. 

     

    We have a ServiceNow form where units can request the exemption.
