Hello all,
There is a research professor in our organization who did not receive grant funding for a teaching assistant this year for the brain imaging lab run by her department. She would like to provide the funding personally to the department to support a research assistant for the lab that she oversees. Is there a way to word this legally to be used for the purpose she is donating to?
Here is a proposed wording, does an "independent manager for fund use oversight" allow room for departmental control? Or does anyone have an alternate language we can use?
This gift will provide support for Dr. Kxxxx's Spatial-Temporal Brain Imaging Lab in the College of Sciences, Department of Psychology. Primarily, the funds will be used to support the salary and benefits for a Research Specialist position. As determined by Dr. Kxxxx, the remaining funds may be used to support research needs including but not limited to lab supplies, equipment, travel expenses, and marketing.
As Dr. Kxxxx is both the donor and the fund administrator, the chair for the Department of Psychology will be appointed as an independent manager for fund use oversight.
