    Good morning, 

    We've received a donation from "Elect Firstname Lastname." Has anyone been in this situation? I've been encouraged to go ahead a deposit the gift, but don't know if my organization can legally accept a contribution made with campaign funds.

    If this is a PAC contribution, it cannot be treated as a charitable donation. Whether your institution wants to accept money donated from a specific political party or PAC is a decision best left to the Gift Acceptance Committee.
