  • 1.  DAF gift not recommended by a donor

    Posted 03-08-2023 10:01 AM
We just received a gift from Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund with the note, "This grant is being distributed by Fidelity Charitable, not recommended by a donor, and may be used where it's needed most." The giving account name is Anonymous.

This is a new one for us. Has anyone seen that "not recommended by a donor" language before?

Yes. It's Fidelity's way of protecting the anonymity of an individual. However, it is up to your institutional policy whether you will accept any gift without knowing who leveraged it.
