Good afternoon,
Tickets were sold for an event and the speaker can no longer attend and the event is canceled. We will be reaching out to ticket buyers to inform them of the event cancelation and would like to offer either a refund or the ability to convert their tickets to a 100% tax-deductible donation.
- What is the typical deadline to take action on their purchase for converting to donation vs. refund?
- Is my assumption correct that, if we don't hear from them by the deadline, that they will receive a full refund via their payment method?
Does anyone have sample language to buyers that addresses this situation?
