Board members donating their expenses\per diem to the organization

    We use Blackbaud CRM, how do we record "gifts" from our board members who choose to donate their travel expenses to the organization? and how do we create a receipt\Thank you letter? I know it's not best practice for the organization to issue a check to itself as a gift.

    The same way you handle all other in-kind donations - as that is what these are! Use the same process you would for recording the donation of a piece of equipment.
