Has anyone else had their alumni contacted by Alumni Alliances? An apparent alumni community platform working entirely independently of institutions.  We have no relationship with them yet they have contacted several of our alumni. They must be scrubbing LinkedIn (or elsewhere) for alumni and email addresses.

At the end of their email they have a disclaimer that they are not endorsed or affiliated with the university.

    Hi Jeff,

I've heard about this going back at least a couple of years now. They do pretty aggressive data-mining and advertising on LinkedIn and other social media, and they make money by selling advertising and user data.

I have been contacted by Alumni Alliances "on behalf" of my institutions, Indiana University and Emmanuel College.  They sent multiple emails for both.
