Hello,
We have been approached by a longtime donor with a potential gift of a residential property. It's worth a good amount and I believe it is owned outright. My team has asked me to look into accepting such a gift. Can anyone point me to a best practices paper or website that might outline questions to ask, actions to take, and/or potential problems to look out for? I know this issue belongs with our general counsel, but they haven't been very helpful thus far, and the donor likes to work with us, so we are trying to figure out some basics around the process.
