  • 1.  New CRM for non-academic organization

Hi Marla & Bethany, It is true that the CRM's prevalent in the non-academic landscape are a bit different. There is a (tad outdated) report by Idealware that lists several donor CRM systems along with their prominent feature comparison. You can find it here <https://www.idealware.org/reports/consumers-guide-low-cost-donor-management-systems/>. (The report lists a good set of products, however, the feature list may be dated because within a couple of years, new features can get added). That said, here's my thought as someone who has worked with organizations in this selection process: Marla did a great job looking around for data that would be related to donors and her organization. Take this a step further and try to view the data by your entire organization -- even the data that would arrive as advancement data from programs or other teams, and how it relates to donor/advancement data. Bringing this into consideration would be a powerful step in the direction of breaking data silos right before they even begin forming. *Medha Nanal* *Strategic Data & CRM Consulting for Nonprofit & Education Organizations* (Fundraising/Advancement, Programs, Operations, Communications) 650-600-9374 www.topcloudconsult.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On Thu, Sep 5, 2019 at 8:33 AM Bethany McCarthy < 0000004dbf8c3261-dmarc-request@listserv.fundsvcs.org> wrote: > I would also be interested in any CRM recommendations for non-academic > institutions. > > Thank you, > Bethany > > ___________________________________________________ > BETHANY BANNISTER McCARTHY > Manager of Advancement Services > > DMA > Office: 214-922-1337 > Dallas Museum of Art | 1717 N. I would also be interested in any CRM recommendations for non-academic institutions. Hi all, We are beginning to consider a new CRM. I'd love to hear from folks in non-academic settings - what you currently use, along with a brief list of pros and cons. In addition to a peer-to-peer fundraising program, we also have events, major gifts, corporate initiatives, direct mail. I found really good information in the archives on evaluating a CRM which will definitely be useful when we are farther along in the process. Thanks in advance for your input. Your annual financials suggest you're on the larger side for nonpofit orgs. The usual suspects like Blackbaud and Salesforce are likely on your radar, but other options include CharityEngine (strong expertise in direct mail) Agilon, Abila, ROI Solutions, etc. You'll probably be looking at a set of allied systems to support your work as well, including standalone eCRM options and other kinds of integration configurations. If you are a small shop, you may also want to consider eTapestry, the lighter CRM provided by Blackbaud. Another good CRM is Greenlight. --Marianne ________________________________________ Marianne M. Another CRM that I've heard is successful for very small organizations is Bloomerang. It doesn't have a ton of features, but it's very easy to use, according to those I've talked to who use it. The organization I moved to a little over a year ago uses Abila. I DO NOT recommend it. I'm hoping we'll be in the market for a new CRM in the future...
