All irrevocable planned gifts have a good bit of extra legal information contained as there usually are benefits to donors associated during their lives. I'd work this out with your Planned Giving Officer. FWIW, at both Duke and NC State, my PGOs had me record the gift establishing a planned gift exactly as I would any other gift (number of shares and name of stock in this case). Hi all, I have a donor that sent us stock whose proceeds would purchase a gift annuity. Would I receipt this showing the securities sent, and a "goods/services value" of the non-deductible component of the annuity purchased, or how do you suggest receipting it? Thanks! Hi Brian! I believe you issue a normal CGA receipt and the donor must work with their tax advisor to deal with the capital gains event created with the stock transfer - which may different than a generic stock sale. But I'd like a second opinion. Because I'm not an expert.
