You will also find a reference to these exclusive contracts - and their non-deductibility and non-countability - on the CASE website. John John H. Taylor Principal, John H. They can request it, but it would negate any charitable nature of the transaction. It seems like a pretty clear economic benefit to the sponsor. -jsg _____________________ Joshua S. We are currently in talks with a company about an exclusive sponsorship of a venue on campus. The venue hosts events throughout the year where vendors can sell products. As part of an exclusive sponsorship, can a company request that vendors who sell similar products, only sell products by this specific brand? Has anyone had a similar request or situation? I'd love to hear if anyone has had similar issues when working with sponsorship exclusivity? Thank you all for your continued assistance - have a great evening! -- Ari Kroop 301.314.4900<tel:301.314.4900> Coordinator University of Maryland Division of Student Affairs Office of Development and External Relations 8400 Baltimore Avenue, Suite 200 College Park, MD 20740 ________________________________ This e-mail message (including any attachments) is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information. Your campus most likely has a Coke or Pepsi contract that is along these lines. You want to structure it to separate the UBIT activities from the non-UBIT activities.
