Hey folks, hope your summers are going well! I have a question about sponsorships. We have 4 corporate sponsor levels for one of our events. I normally put into Raiser’s Edge the sponsor level name, the dollar amount at that level and the FMV for each benefit in the sponsor category (i.e. x # of racing bibs, x # of VIP reception tickets and x # of dinner tickets). I’m getting donor info though that says even though this sponsor level gets 10 spots, they are only using 8 for the race, 10 for reception, 7 for dinner meaning I have to do a separate sponsor package based on how many people they are brining per activity? I’ve not done it this way before, but that is how I am getting the info. This sponsor only has X # for this, this other one at the same level has a different number. How would you handle this? FWIW - while I agree that our organizations should try to reasonably accommodate requests for adjusted quids based on a proactive donor request, I would suggest that kind of activity be discouraged as you could end up with way more effort in managing those kinds of adjustments than you really want to deal with [if you do it for one then word can get around and others might want to start cherry-picking through benefits, as well]. Perhaps circling back with sponsor to see if they would be willing to "host" a special guest of some kind to fill out those spots rather than attempting to incrementally adjust the benefit package(s)? Just a thought... -Amy Amy J.
