Hi there, Online gifts - coming through with personal name. How do we know (or do we need to know) if it is in fact a corporate credit card? Some of them we believe are because of our knowledge of the donor and corp. Do we hard/soft credit the person/business? Thanks for your input. There is not much you can do but take the information at face value. Asking for the name on the card is about as much as you can ask for. I have seen others ask whether the card is a "company card," but that can be irrelevant. When I worked in banking I had a company card - but I was 100% responsible for all charges. The bank would decide which charge to reimburse. And I have my own business card today for my consulting work. But I file a single tax return (as a sole proprietor). I'd hard credit the individual and leave the business out of this unless the donor specifically tells you this is a corporate gift. John John H. Taylor Principal, John H. That's a slick suggestion, Cynthia. Although my billing address and my business address are the same (even though of late I don't find myself at home much!). John John H. When we get online gifts and the billing address that is used for the card is a business then we hard credit the business if it is a home address then the person is given the hard credit. On forms where this is often an issue for us – namely events – we have a field where the person can indicate that it is a corporate sponsorship. We very often have staff with p-cards buying corporate tables for example. Hi Karen, On Benevity’s Logon page, there is a button “I cannot log in to my profile”.
