We have an IRA gift that the benefiting department would like to put into
an endowment that will be matched by a federal grant. A note on the
material provided to us by the IRA manager states "...that the gift will
not be placed in a donor advised fund or supporting organization."
Besides benefits to the donor which is not relevant for this particular
gift, are there other limits to how we can use IRA rollover gifts that we
should be aware of? Would the federal match be a problem?
Thanks in advance,
Lisa
