A question about how much data from wealth screenings people bring over from their research database into their main CRM? For reference, we use Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge and their ResearchPoint tool.
Our Planned Giving Director wants to have most/all of several data points currently in our ResearchPoint system brought over into Raiser's Edge, which will obviously make it easier for her to query and analyze from our main CRM. She does not currently have a login to ResearchPoint, though I have no reason to believe the prospect research team that manages that system wouldn't allow her in. We do sync the two systems, but the data she is asking about isn't part of the sync. I'm wondering what the best practices are regarding importing this info into one's main CRM and the pros/cons of importing it vs. accessing it in the research database? We screen over 300k records each year so there is a LOT of data. One thought I had was to map and import it to our central data warehouse and report on it out of there, as the DW could combine RE and RP data, though this still means not working in RE directly.
The Director has asked about having the following info imported into Raiser's Edge:
- $250k+ in possible appreciated assets
- Planned gifts to other organizations,
- Larkspur data on interest in estate/retirement/financial planning
Thanks,
-t
