*The University of North Carolina Greensboro,* Office of Advancement is
seeking a Director of Foundation Relations. Reporting to the Associate Vice
Chancellor of University Advancement, the Director of Foundation Relations
is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding
major gifts from foundations for the University. As a development team
member, the individual works closely with the Vice Chancellor of Research
and Engagement, the Vice Chancellor of University Advancement and other
development colleagues across the University.
The director will sustain level of major gift activity commensurate with
performance expectations and prepare detailed and timely contact reports of
all visits. Maintain an ongoing portfolio of foundation prospects as
determined with the Associate Vice Chancellor; maintain a steady visit
schedule and create strategies and compelling fundraising proposals.
Identify key alumni within foundations and engage them in strategic
conversations about supporting the University in a variety of ways.
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward foundations believed to have
potential to make major gifts to the University.
The Director of Foundation Relations will identify emerging foundation
leaders and foundation giving trends with an emphasis on developing solid
alliances that support the mission and goals of the University. Advise
faculty, dean, administrators and development colleagues on foundations’
areas of interest and development of proposals. In conjunction with the
Associate Vice Chancellor, design, implement and manage a comprehensive
proactive development plan focused on expanding and enhancing foundation
relationships by coordinating activities related to obtaining foundation
monetary support. Work with Donor Relations to prepare and provide regular
annual impact reports to foundations as requested. Develop reporting
structures for both internal and external audiences and based on needs of
the foundations
Master’s Degree; or Bachelor’s Degree with substantially equivalent
experience would be considered. Minimum of 5 years of experience in
fundraising. Demonstrated ability in grant and proposal writing at
appropriate levels for varied proposal development. Willingness to work
flexible hours and ability to travel. Ability to initiate and build
relationships with prospective foundation donors and maintain a high level
of poise and professionalism.
