Thought 1. It's always the value to the recipient regardless of the organization cost. John John H. Taylor Principal, John H. Hi all, We are having a golf outing come up and for simplicity they receive, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a round of golf.  A different donor pays to sponsor breakfast, would the individual FMV to each golfer include or exclude breakfast? Thought 1.. Doesn't matter who paid for breakfast the golfer is receiving the good and services so you would include that as part of the cost and goods and services. Thought 2... Since the breakfast was donated the cost of goods and services would be excluded from the total cost of goods and services per registration.  Any advice is helpful. Thanks,Anna

Anna – You’d want to go with Thought #1. It doesn’t matter who paid for what…it matters what kind of value the donor received. Michael Halverson, Ed.D. Thanks, Anna
