Responsible for assisting the implementation of a comprehensive program to sustain and expand philanthropic support for Visiting Nurse Association Health Group' hospice programs including the annual giving program, major gifts, planned gifts, special events, volunteers, grants communications and special projects as needed. Responsibilities 1. Supports organization's mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers 2. Supports the Vice President of Development, Hospice in planning, implementing and evaluating fundraising activities for the hospice programs including direct mail, major gifts, stewardship materials and other giving programs 3. Updates and maintains the Raiser's Edge/NXT fund-raising database 4. Processes, records, reconciles and reports gifts and contributions online and through mail, using accepted policies and procedures for all databases 5. As needed, provides support to the Director of Special Events in implementing successful events 6. Produces mailing lists/event invitation lists/ reports/research/updates/monthly gift summaries, etc. in a timely manner as needed to move development operations forward 7. Maintains current knowledge of RE/NXT/iWave updates; reviews webinars and training opportunities 8. Participates in the monthly and annual reconciliation process with the VNAHG Finance Department 9. Produces and mails all donor acknowledgements and stewardship pieces as assigned in a timely fashion 10. Provides support in preparation and execution of all direct mail and multi-channel fundraising activities. 11. Adheres to the organization's policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in related discipline 2. 2-3 years of fundraising experience preferred 3. Strong computer skills with thorough knowledge and application of MS Office products and database management software- 4. Raiser's Edge experience preferred 5. Attention to detail 6. Passion for fundraising and people 7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 8. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills 9. Ability and willingness to travel 10. The qualified candidate will provide strategy, leadership, direction, coordination and management of major gifts, annual giving, membership programming, and stewardship for the Alys Stephens Center for the Performing Arts (ASC) and the Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts (AEIVA). The candidate will work closely with the Executive Director for the Visual and Performing Arts to develop fundraising priorities, create and implement a strategic plan, and secure major gifts by identifying, cultivating and soliciting individuals, corporations and foundations for major gifts. In addition, the incumbent in this position will be responsible for overseeing and developing a strong and effective membership and patrons program and serving as the primary interface with the volunteer leadership of the Visual and Performing Arts. The Senior Director of Development must be able to function as an integral part of a team of development professionals in designing and implementing successful fund raising programs that include annual giving, planned giving, and major gifts to maximize philanthropic support of the ASC and the AEIVA. This position will also manage a corporate membership manager, an individual membership manager and a grant writer. Responsible Includes: * Design and implement successful fund raising programs that include annual giving, planned giving, and major gifts to maximize philanthropic support. * Manage a development team to include a corporate membership manager, an individual membership manager and a grant writer. * Work with the Executive Director and other colleagues to identify potential sources of private gift support and develop appropriate strategies to generate major gifts. * Maintain a productive portfolio and meet assigned metrics related but not limited to visits, proposals presented and closed, and any monetary goals. * Make assessment and cultivate visits to constituents and document the result of those discussions. Where appropriate, arrange for meetings between these constituents and the Executive Director for the Visual and Performing Arts. * Recruit and manage volunteers for advisory boards in coordination with Executive Director * Hire, train and supervise professional employees needed to cultivate and solicit constituents for major gifts, annual gifts and memberships. * Plan and implement programs that inform and cultivate individuals, corporations and foundations, and coordinate gift solicitation. * Work with other members of the University Advancement Office staff to ensure prospects are properly researched and assigned, coordinated and completed, and that donors receive appropriate acknowledgments and recognition. * Design and oversee the implementation of effective membership program and serve as the primary contact with the volunteer leaders. * Coordinate the production of appropriate fund raising materials including, but not limited to, case statements, brochures, solicitation letters, gift proposals, gift agreements, thank you letters, donor reports, campaign status reports, etc. * Prepare budgets for development and membership activities, obtain necessary administrative approvals, and provide periodic progress reports to appropriate offices. Annual Salary Range: $76,960 - $90,000 (Commensurate with experience & qualifications) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Finance, Marketing or a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible fund raising experience, preferably in an educational or arts related setting; public affairs, outside sales or similar experience may substitute for up to three years of fundraising experience. Success in designing, implementing and administering programs related to fund raising, volunteer management, marketing or related fields. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
