SUNY Empire State College seeks an Advancement Officer (AO) who will be charged with raising private gifts for the college as part of the institution's overall fundraising program. The AO will join a team of professionals who are focused on ensuring sustainable philanthropic growth commensurate with the needs of the College by engaging alumni and friends, developing long-term relationships, laying the groundwork for an upcoming comprehensive campaign and soliciting prospects in a professional and collaborative manner.
Reporting to the Director of Development, the AO will develop and manage a portfolio of prospects across New York State and beyond. They will be expected to complete a minimum of 120 face-to-face visits annually to qualify, cultivate and solicit potential donors for leadership gifts at the $1,000+ level, along with multi-year major and planned gifts. The AO will work closely with their Advancement colleagues and campus leaders to develop and implement strategies to close gift commitments. Additionally, he/she will attend major regional alumni events, and work with the college's regional leadership and staff to engage and solicit appropriate local alumni and community partners.
