    Absolutely NOT. Whether and if a donor completes an 8283 is entirely their call. A simple reminder on the receipt that they *may* need to file and 8283 is as far as we should go.     How do you handle 8283 forms for a donor making a large in-kind gift? Our receipts clearly state that they need to fill out Form 8283 for large in-kind donations and should consult a tax advisor regarding tax deductibility. Do you go the extra mile and contact the donor to fill out that form?
