  • 1.  Gift Administration Fee Policy

We're looking into creating a gift administration fee policy and this string has been helpful to look over. One thing we're wondering is how the fee is communicated with donors. Do you have it available on an FAQ type page or is it noted on gift agreements/receipts at all? Thank you for any insight you can provide! Katie, We have it listed on all of our gift agreements. Something to the effect of… > quote_type > Consistent with Lehigh University policy, gifts and payments made in support of restricted current operating purposes are subject to a three (3) percent fee for administrative costs. We may change the language a bit depending on the gift type, tailoring it to the specific type of fee it hits. We also have a reference listed on all of our receipts… > quote_type > In accordance with Lehigh University's Board of Trustees approved policy, a portion of your contribution may be used to fund Development and Alumni Relations efforts on behalf of Lehigh University. Don't forget pledge reminders, too! Try this: "To support our fundraising efforts and better align XYZ University with practices across the country, an administrative fee of 5% may be assessed on gifts." John John H.
