If you peek through the archives you will find that there has been a move *away* from publishing honor rolls/donor lists. The following article may help in your consideration. In the olden days when I was involved in this practice, my organizations listed only folk who had paid. So people that had pledges were included in those years they paid. But this gets to why these lists are such a pain as you may feel one way but donors may have another opinion! https://www.donorrelationsguru.com/saynotohonorrolls John John H. Hi All - It's been years since I've put together a donor list for an annual report and am trying to figure out best practices for how to list donors in a multi-year pledge. We have been listing at the payment amount each year. Should we list at the pledge amount for the first year? Thank you, Beth Beth Friedmann, Director of Development Operations American Jewish World Service 45 West 36th Street, New York, NY 10018 t 212.792.2817 f 212.792.2930 www.ajws.org<http://www.ajws.org/> | facebook<http://www.facebook.com/americanjewishworldservice> | twitter<http://twitter.com/ajws>

John – I would prefer not to have the honor roll/donor list, but unfortunately, that isn’t an option for this year. - Beth From: Advancement Services Discussion List <FUNDSVCS@LISTSERV.FUNDSVCS.ORG> On Behalf Of John Taylor Sent: Monday, April 22, 2019 12:48 PM To: FUNDSVCS@LISTSERV.FUNDSVCS.ORG Subject: Re: [FUNDSVCS] Pledges & annual report listings If you peek through the archives you will find that there has been a move away from publishing honor rolls/donor lists. Hi Beth, Our organization actually bases recognition on pledges and not payments, so we do list our donors in our annual report based upon their pledge amount. For multi-year pledges, we list them based on the amount of their pledge that is to be counted in that year. For example, a $100,000 pledge that is to be paid $20,000/year for five years would be listed in our report as $20,000 for each of those five years. -Akilah Akilah Webster | Fundraising Research & Operations Director | United Way of Central Indiana 2955 N.
