  • 1.  honorary day sponsorship on public radio

Hi all! We received an honorary day sponsorship on public radio from a donor. Wondering if this is a gift in kind or not. Should we book it, or just thank the donor? The letter from the public radio station reads: "A day sponsorship is an on-air message read three times on a chosen day. Donors at the day sponsorship level have the option of donating their premium to a local non-profit organization if they decline to use it themselves." Thanks for your insights! *Jill Doub* Advancement Services Coordinator Warren Wilson College CPO 6376 PO Box 9000 Asheville, NC 28815 828.771.2052

If the gift is from the public radio station it is not a gift. If an individual paid for the sponsorship and gave it to you, it might be a gift.
