  • 1.  Looking for co-presenter possibilities for AASP Leadership track

Good afternoon FUNDSVCS group, I've been kicking around the idea of submitting a presentation proposal for AASP Summit related to advancement services leaders branching into non-traditional advancement services leadership roles. About a year and half ago I took on the role of Campaign Director in addition to my advancement services duties and this was a departure from the traditional mold for Campaign Directors at our college. My view is it simply reflects the reality that campaigns are becoming increasingly data driven and major donors are expecting more evidence driven - less sales driven interactions with campaign leaders. I'm wondering if there are a few of you out there doing something similar (not necessarily Campaigns but other areas of philanthropy leadership) and would be interested in submitting a proposal with me to co-present on it. My problem is that, honestly, my story could be interesting for only about a third of the length of a session and so presenting with a couple others would be ideal. If you have a similar but different story to tell about your career, hit me up here or off list. Presentation proposals are due soon so we would want to put something together sooner rather than later. On a related note, the rise of Josh Birkholz to CEO of Bentz Whaley Flessner is, on a higher scale, also evidence of the increasing demand for data leaders to expand their roles into areas beyond just strict data analytics. I think it also fits the Summit theme of "Headed to the Cloud: Breaking Barriers in Support of Philanthropy" very nicely. Let me know.
