Thanks so much – this is what I have been suggesting but it helps to have you confirm it – by the way, great webinar yesterday!

Subject: Re: [FUNDSVCS] Gift Processing Standards
The are no recent surveys I have seen on this. The consistent turn-around time from receipt on site to the mailing of an acknowledgment/receipt has been 2 business days for a good 15-20 years.
Closeout periods are a bit more "flexible" and are largely driven by a mutual understanding/agreement between the Advancement VP and CFO.
At bother Duke and NC State the month closed on the day the month closed. There was no robbing Peter to pay Paul.
End of the fiscal year was a bit different. At Duke (when I was there), we had until 10 am on July 1st to deposit any last-minute gifts that came in the previous day. I cannot recall the rule at NC State but want to say it wasn't much more than a day or two.

I know I have seen this on this list serve before, but I am unable to find it in the archives. We are looking for some gift processing standards with which to benchmark on team on. For example, how long from receipt of a gift is the gift processed and the acknowledgment sent out; how long should it take to close out the month? The fiscal year? Does anyone have anything like this?
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
