    There have been prior discussions regarding strategies for collecting these data so do check the archives. I would, however, be careful when asking about percentages as there are many different ways to look at the data. I would, first, consider limiting your survey to a specific age range. Young alumni are hard to track down during their first 5-10 years out of school as they tend to hop around a bit. And older alumni may very likely be retired. When I look at how well I am doing in collecting these data I look at alumni between the ages of 30-70. Within that range, I strive for a minimum of 75%. But then you have to consider the quality of the data. Knowing that someone works for a particular employer is one thing. Knowing their title and contact information is quite another thing!     Hello all, We are trying to come up with benchmarks for alumni employment information completeness and strategies for updating this information. I’d like to ask other universities about how they are updating ‘current employment’ information on their alumni. (1) What percentage of your alumni have current employment information filled in? (2) What methods do you use to gather the data? Web forms; Asking alumni to email; third party services; printing employer on mailings?
