I personally have not but know many who have. It's really not a big deal provided you have a "wallet" into which to accept and immediately sell: https://www.pcmag.com/roundup/363529/the-best-cryptocurrency-wallets Assuming we had done our homework and established an exchange protocol, I would do it in a heartbeat. We haven’t accepted any, but we’ve kicked the tires. We will not accept any directly and will only work with a third party who takes on the counterparty risk (this is especially important in moments when the currency value is declining and cash conversions are made in 15-60 minute increments). There are lots of third party vendors who will do this for you minus a fee (the one we spoke to quoted 1% and a 24 hour cash settlement window directly to our bank). -jsg _____________________ Joshua S. We started to look into it last fall but back-burnered it when the bottom fell out of the market. I strongly suspect there are far fewer people with appreciated gains in their crypto currency, and many more with depreciated values, than there were just 6 months ago and there's no reason to donate depreciated property. Might as well sell it, take the loss, and donate the cash. When we were looking around though, I thought Bitpay was intriguing because their mechanism allowed people to donate in dollar value and then they used an invoice process to request the amount of crypto to cover it. Keeps it a little neater than accepting a crypto amount then converting it to an odd conversion value. At the College of Charleston Foundation, we have received donated bitcoin several times (from the same donor). We use Bitpay and they have been very accommodating. The process with them is easy and we’ve had no “hiccups”.
