This came through fine, Rose. You can always check the archives to see if earlier emails posted. I would record this as an IHO gift. Rose, we record these as straight IHO gifts and notify the honoree. We had a slightly different situation around the holidays: a local business was celebrating its 20th anniversary and allowed each employee to designate a $100 gift to the nfp of their choice. When we received that gift we soft-credited the employee and wrote a separate thank you (not receipt/acknowledgment) to her for directing the funds, which we wouldn't have received without her input. Happy Tuesday! I'm wondering if anyone is getting my posts? I've submitted a few times the last week and a half and have not received one response? My question now, how do you record gifts that are made to honor an employee's years of service? We received gifts from a company (via their foundation) that were due to employee years of service; the employees choose a non-profit. Would this be a tribute gift, in honor of these employees? Or are they the "solicitor" of these gifts (I'd say more influencer than solicitor)? Or do they get soft credit? I'm leaning toward IHO, but thought I would get your thoughts. Thanks!
