  • 1.  IRS Publication 526 Status

As you all know, I frequently (at least 3-4 times/year) check the IRS website for updates to publications I think are critical to our work and load the new versions to the download site. Publication 526 is nearly always updated annually. Today, when checking, I found a notice pertaining to Publication 526 indicating that "the 2018 revision of this publication has been delayed." Other than "posted soon" there is no indication as to how soon. Curiously, the IRS has simultaneously *removed* the previous version of 526. Happily, you may still find it at the download site. But do keep in mind that some of the information in that "old" version is going to be changed - perhaps to reflect changes in the law such as the end of the 80/20 rule now called the "no deduction whatsoever" rule. Anyway, the older version is there if you need it. BTW, other than Publication 970 which I uploaded a week ago, none of our other key publications have been updated - yet. John John H. John: Thanks for this. I've been waiting for the IRS Data Book annual update and expecting it to be late due to the government shutdown if nothing else. Michael [S&W_clr-small] Michael L.
