    Sort of. First, we must assume that you intended to pay for the services (or whatever) your self. Second, I would like to hope that this is an exception and not the norm (which would be that you pay and the donor writes you a check!). Assuming the above and that you have documentation to support the payment and proof of payment (you need to ascertain legally who paid the bill), then you can issue a gift-in-kind receipt (description - no value).     If a constituent pays a third party for something on behalf of our organization, can we issue a tax receipt to the constituent?
